You can start a car rental business with one vehicle rather than building a fleet immediately. Chauffeur-driven rentals, corporate transportation, airport transfers and event transportation are possible business models. Your first vehicle should be selected according to customer demand, reliability, fuel consumption, maintenance cost and resale value. Vehicle acquisition is usually the largest startup expense. Do not calculate profit from rental income alone. Fuel, maintenance, insurance, licensing, cleaning, depreciation, financing and downtime all matter. A rental agreement, customer verification and clear payment/deposit rules are essential. Corporate clients and recurring customers can provide more predictable revenue than relying entirely on one-off daily rentals. A lean business can grow gradually by reinvesting part of its operating surplus into additional vehicles.

A frozen food business involves buying and selling frozen products such as chicken, turkey, fish, seafood and other frozen foods to households, restaurants, food vendors and retailers. You can operate from a small shop, home-based setup, neighbourhood outlet or larger distribution point. The major costs are usually inventory, freezer equipment, electricity or alternative power, shop expenses, transportation and working capital. The most important part of the business is not simply buying products cheaply. You need to maintain appropriate storage conditions, monitor your stock, reduce unnecessary opening and closing of freezers, avoid overstocking and understand the cost of keeping the business powered. NAFDAC's Food Hygiene Regulations, 2025 include requirements around temperature monitoring, equipment used for storing or freezing food, transportation, packaging, hygiene and food-safety procedures. This makes cold-chain management an important part of operating the business responsibly.
